Good to know

Ranks, explained.

What are the ranks in Marvel Rivals?

Marvel Rivals has nine competitive ranks: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Grandmaster, Celestial, Eternity and One Above All. Bronze to Celestial each have three divisions, III, II and I. Eternity has no divisions, and One Above All is the top 500 Eternity players.

How many points is each rank in Marvel Rivals?

Each division is 100 rank points, so a full tier is 300. Bronze III starts at 0 and Eternity starts at 2,100. Wins add points and losses remove them, with Chrono Shields protecting you from some demotions.

How does the Marvel Rivals rank reset work?

There’s no fixed drop any more. At the start of each season you play 10 placement matches starting three divisions below your final rank. Celestial II and above start at Grandmaster II. Good placements can put you one or two divisions above your old rank, up to Celestial I. If the reset knocked you back, rank boosting gets you to your old rank fast.

Do ranks reset at the mid-season update?

No. Ranks only reset when a full season starts. The mid-season update adds content and a new ranked reward track, but your rank carries over.

What is the Marvel Rivals rank distribution?

NetEase has only shared one official chart, from Season 1.5 in April 2025. It put about 21% of players in Gold, the most common rank, and 0.3% in Eternity and One Above All. Third-party sites only track players who look themselves up, so they skew high.

What level do you need to play Competitive?

You need account level 15 to unlock Competitive. It was level 10 before April 2025, so older guides may still say 10.
