Apex Street Fighter event dates and mode
The Apex Street Fighter event starts September 22 and ends October 13, 2026. It brings Fighter Gear and Fighter Form to Wildcard on a remixed Olympus. This pre-event guide uses EA and Respawn's announcement, checked September 18. An exact launch hour has not been announced.
The rewards have separate deadlines. The takeover ends October 13, but the Twitch reward window closes September 29 and the Discord Quest closes October 12. If you're returning near the end of the event, that Twitch charm will already be outside its announced window.
How Fighter Gear and Fighter Form work
Grab Fighter Gear in Wildcard and choose a fighter kit. Each kit has a Passive, Tactical and Ultimate. Here is how you activate and sustain Fighter Form:
- Collect tokens around the map to fill your Fight Gauge.
- Activate Fighter Form.
- Use the fighter's abilities while the gauge drains.
- Land abilities to help refill the gauge.
- Return to normal when it empties.
During Form, your camera switches to third person. You gain a new Tactical and Ultimate, stronger melee, a block ability, extra damage resistance and bonus speed. EA has not supplied an exact duration or defensive values, so don't plan around a fixed number of seconds or assume blocking makes you safe from every attack.
Because the gauge drains during Form, a sensible starting habit is to transform with a fight within reach. Otherwise, you're spending gauge while travelling. Landing abilities can extend your time in Form, but the announcement doesn't promise that you can keep it running indefinitely.
Fight Gauge tokens power your abilities during a match. Zenny buys items in the Reward Shop. Keep those two names separate when checking your progress.
Ryu, Chun-Li, Akuma and Dhalsim compared
Which fighter should you try first? Start with the movement and attack style you prefer. These are the differences in EA's descriptions, not a tested tier list:

Ryu or Akuma for ranged pressure followed by a close finish? Both descriptions support that approach. Ryu explicitly adds fast movement and an uppercut; Akuma brings demon fireballs and Shun Goku Satsu. The announcement does not provide damage values to rank one above the other.
Prefer movement that changes your approach angle? Chun-Li's wall-running and Dhalsim's floating give you two different starting points. Chun-Li also has faster melee and a charged zone-control blast. Dhalsim combines teleporting with Yoga Sunburst from above. A reasonable first comparison, based on those descriptions, is close pressure versus aerial positioning.
There are four fighter kits but eight Iconic Legend skins. Gear selection and cosmetic selection are separate systems.
Showdown and the Olympus changes
Showdown, the final round, gives everyone infinite Fight Gauge, letting players enter Fighter Form at will. Downed or respawning players also return to the arena. Infinite gauge does not mean infinite health, and the return-to-arena rule is described for this finale, not the whole match.
Where can you build or activate Form before that? Two map interactions worth knowing:
- Enter the Fight Night ring in Luke's Gym to activate Fighter Form.
- Smash Punch Trucks to collect tokens for your Fight Gauge.
Fighter statues, street art, Blanka-chan balloons and arcade cabinets appear around Olympus. The ring and Punch Trucks are the announced map interactions that directly affect Form.

EA names the Lifeline x Li-Fen Epic Skin in the Zenny Reward Shop, plus the Insert Coin Here Weapon Charm through Twitch and Kung Fu Coach Tracker Set through Discord. Buying an event cosmetic is not listed as a requirement for these rewards.

EA's Reward Shop preview shows the Lifeline skin at 1,300 Zenny and tells players to earn Zenny through daily event challenges. That is a previewed price, not a checked live-store offer. Check the event challenges and shop when it starts for the final costs, earning limits and each item's availability.
EA says Drops will be enabled for all Apex streams during the announced window. Watch for 60 minutes, then follow Twitch's claim steps. A paid subscription is not listed as a requirement. For Discord, play for 15 minutes with the Discord app running and linked to your EA account. Follow the Quest's displayed eligibility and claim instructions rather than assuming every platform setup qualifies.

The eight Legendary weapon skins cover the R-99, EVA-8, Flatline, Volt, G7 Scout, Mozambique, Devotion and Peacekeeper. EA also announces two Skydive Emotes, Holosprays, Stickers, Badges, Trackers and Frames.
The Hadoken Mythic Universal Melee is a cosmetic with a matching Deathbox. Ryu's gameplay Hadoken comes from his fighter kit. The announcement does not describe buying the Mythic as a way to access that kit or gain a damage advantage.
