What should you know before you read the gallery? A few things:

  • Season 30 (Marked) isn't in it. The season is still running, and its badge goes out when Season 31 starts.
  • There is one image per season. Seasons with two splits also have an animated version for players who ended both splits in Pred.
  • Badges from Season 15 on carry a leaderboard position. According to the Apex wiki, Predator badges from Season 15 onward show the position you held when ranked ended. It was never documented officially, so treat it as the wiki's finding.
  • Arenas badges are a separate set. The six Ranked Arenas Pred badges from Seasons 10 to 15 have their own section further down.

How do you tell which season a badge is from when there's no label? Use this three second check. It works on banners, old screenshots and image results:

  1. Look at the skull. A white skull means Season 2 to Season 16. An orange glowing skull means Season 17 or later.
  2. Look under the skull. No medallion and no nameplate means Season 2 to 9. A round Apex medallion means Season 10 to 15. A red nameplate means Season 16 or later.
  3. Look at the frame. On the orange skull badges the frame is the only part that really changes, so compare the crown and the bottom edge with the gallery.

Step one and two gets you down to a handful of seasons. Step three finishes the job.

Why bother learning it? Because the image results on Google don't label the seasons, and a wrong label on a Pred badge is exactly the kind of thing ranked players notice straight away.

What the Apex Predator badge is

What is it, in one line? Its the ranked badge you get for finishing a split in Apex Predator, the highest tier in Apex Legends ranked. The Apex wiki lists it as "You're Tiering Me Apart: Apex Predator", with the description "Reach Apex Predator tier in Ranked Season N". Everyone in game just calls it the Pred badge, so that's what this page calls it too.

How many do you get per season? One. Both splits share the same badge, but it comes in two versions:

  • Static badge: you ended one split in Predator.
  • Animated badge: you ended both splits in Predator. EA's help page words it as matching your Split 1 rank in Split 2, and the Season 21 patch notes say the same thing.

Which one matters more? The animated one, by a distance. A static badge says you got there. An animated badge says you were there at the end of a split, twice, in the same season. Thats the flex.

When does it land on your account? Not when the split ends, and that catches alot of players out. EA hands out ranked rewards at the start of the next season. A Season 29 badge showed up when Season 30 began, and the Season 30 badge will show up when Season 31 begins. Nothing is bugged during the gap. It just isnt due yet.

No Season 1 badge, and two badges people mix up

Why does every list start at Season 2? Because Season 1, Wild Frontier, had no ranked mode at all. Ranked arrived in Season 2. There is no Season 1 Predator badge, so if someone shows you one they are showing you something else.

What is that something else, usually? One of these two:

  1. The Season 1 era "Apex Predator" legend badge. Same name, different badge. You earn it by winning a game while you are the Kill Leader. It has nothing to do with ranked.
  2. Ranked Arenas Predator badges. Arenas had its own ranked ladder and its own Pred badges from Season 10 to Season 15. Respawn removed Arenas when Season 16 launched on February 14, 2023. Those six badges have their own section below.

Where does the Pred badge sit next to the other prestige badges? At the top, with the 20 kill and 4K damage badges just under it. Our Apex Legends badge guide covers those two and the rest of the list, and if you want them on your banner without the grind there's 20 kill and 4K damage badge boosting aswell.

How the Apex Pred badge design changed

Has the Pred badge always looked the same? Not really, but it kept the same core the whole time: a horned skull inside a diamond. Respawn changed the details around that skull almost every season, and the big changes fall into four eras.

Apex Predator badge design eras from Season 2 to Season 29

Seasons 2 to 9: the white skull with wings

What did the first badges look like? A white horned skull on a red diamond, with pale striped wings out to each side. That base stays put for eight seasons. The ornaments around it is what changes:

  • Season 3 adds a spiked crest.
  • Season 5 puts a round emblem on top.
  • Season 9 adds round studs on the wings.

Seasons 10 to 15: the Apex medallion

What changed at Season 10? A round Apex logo medallion moved in under the skull. Season 12 adds flames on top, and Season 15 brings crescent shapes. If you see a medallion, your looking at one of these six seasons.

Season 16: the one-off

Why does one season get its own era? Because Season 16 is the bridge. The skull is still white, but a red nameplate replaces the medallion and white sparkle stars sit above the horns. It's the only white skull with a nameplate, which makes Season 16 the easiest badge in the whole set to spot.

Seasons 17 to 29: the orange glowing skull

From Season 17 the skull turns orange and glows inside a dark diamond, with the red nameplate below it. The frame around the diamond changes every season. Season 26 has a spiked sunburst crown. Season 29 has radiating rays and a fan along the bottom.

Why Season 17, of all seasons? It lines up with the Season 17 ranked rework, when Ladder Points replaced RP. New system, new look. Whatever the reason was, collectors get a clean line out of it: white skull is old ranked, orange skull is new ranked.

EraSeasonsSkullWhat frames it
Winged2 to 9White, horned, on a red diamondPale striped wings, new ornaments each season
Medallion10 to 15WhiteRound Apex logo medallion under the skull
Bridge16WhiteRed nameplate, sparkle stars above the horns
Glowing17 to 29Orange, glowing, in a dark diamondRed nameplate, a new frame every season

Want one expert tip for the orange skull badges? Stop looking at the skull. It barely changes after Season 17. The crown and the bottom of the frame do all the work, so thats where your eyes should go when two badges look identical. Our cap tracker shows each split's badge next to its final Pred cap, which is the fastest way to tie a design to a season.

Ranked Arenas Predator badges, Season 10 to Season 15

What about Arenas? Ranked Arenas had its own ladder and its own Predator badge for six seasons. Respawn added Ranked Arenas on August 3, 2021, in Season 10, gave it two splits from Season 11, and removed Arenas when Season 16 launched on February 14, 2023. That makes exactly six Arenas Pred badges, and there won't be any more.

Season 13 Arenas Predator Badge Apex
Season 13 ArenasSaviors
Season 14 Arenas Predator Badge Apex
Season 14 ArenasHunted
Season 15 Arenas Predator Badge Apex
Season 15 ArenasEclipse

How are they different from the battle royale badges? Each Arenas badge uses the same frame as the battle royale badge from its season. The Season 12 Arenas badge has the same flames on top as the Season 12 one, and Season 15 keeps its crescent shapes. Two things change:

  • The center is dark and smoky instead of red, and the horns glow pink.
  • The medallion under the skull has a different emblem. The battle royale badges from these seasons show the Apex logo there.

How did Arenas Pred work? Arenas ran on Arenas Points (AP) instead of RP. You gained AP for wins and lost it for losses, and kills didn't count. Master started at 8,000 AP, and Predator was the top 750 players per platform, the same cap as battle royale. Every season started with 10 placement matches, and every new split with 5.

Can you still earn one? No. Arenas left the game in Season 16, so these six badges stay with the players who earned them. If you see one on a banner, that player was Pred in a mode that doesn't exist anymore.

The Season 2 badge from Battle Charge is where the whole collection starts.

Season 2 Predator Badge Apex

Were the Season 2 and 3 badges easier to get? Sort of, but not in the way people think. In Season 2, Pred was a points line at 1,000 RP with no cap on players. Season 3 multiplied points by ten, so Pred became 10,000 RP, still with no cap. EA's own numbers for players with 5+ hours of ranked say 0.2% reached Pred in Season 2 and 1.0% in Season 3. Small numbers, but there was no top-X list, if you hit the line you were Pred and nobody could push you out.

What changed in Season 4? Pretty much everything about how Pred works. Season 4 (February 2020) added Master at 10,000 RP, made Pred the top 500 per platform and started ranked splits. For the first time a Pred player could drop back to Master. Then Season 8 (February 2, 2021) raised Pred to the top 750 per platform, and it has stayed at 750 every season since.

And after that? The later changes are in the table, but one matters for collectors. Seasons 17 to 19 swapped RP for Ladder Points with hidden matchmaking and dropped splits, so each of those three seasons had one Pred finish instead of two. Season 20 brought RP and splits back, and its been two splits a season ever since.

The "Ranked Series" naming trap

Ever read an old post about the "Series 2 Pred badge" and wondered what season that is? Respawn called Season 2 and Season 3 "Ranked Series 1" and "Ranked Series 2". The series number ran one behind the season number untill Season 6, when Respawn renamed "Series" to "Season". So "Series 3" is Season 4, and "Series 4" is Season 5. This page uses season numbers everywhere.

What else Predator got

Is the badge the only Pred reward? No, but it's the only one that shows up in every single ranked season. The rest came and went:

  • Pred charms: every season from Season 2 to Season 17, according to the wiki.
  • Ranked holosprays: from Season 9.
  • Dive trails: the Season 2 and 3 Pred trails are permanent. From Season 4 to Season 17 the Pred trail only worked during the following season.
  • Banner frames: from Season 18, Diamond, Master and Pred got banner frames instead of dive trails.

What it took to earn each badge: final Pred caps, Season 12 to Season 30

How hard was each badge, really? The honest measure is the Pred cap, the RP of the last player inside the top 750 when the split ended. Our live Apex Pred cap tracker records it every day. The numbers below are the last daily reading before each reset, built from apexlegendsstatus.com history. The data starts at Season 12, so older seasons dont have a row.

What about Seasons 17 to 19? Those ran on Ladder Points with one split each, and the scale is different. Don't hold 360,604 LP up next to 60,000 RP, its not the same unit. EA later said LP was "extremely generous, resulting in an excess of Masters players", and RP came back in Season 20.

So what does the table actually tell you? Seven things stand out:

  • PC is the hardest platform every split, then PlayStation, then Xbox. Switch finishes lowest every time (it tied Xbox at 15,000 in Season 13 Split 1).
  • The hardest RP badges in the data are Season 23 Split 2 (66,500 RP on PC) and Season 25 Split 1 (63,069 on PC).
  • Season 26 Split 1 was the cheap one. It closed at 25,083 on PC, the lowest PC cap since Season 21.
  • Season 13 Split 1 on Xbox closed at exactly 15,000, the Master line that season. Less than 750 players reached Master, so every Master on Xbox that split was also Pred.
  • No split is reliably easier. From Season 20 to Season 29, Split 2 finished higher on PC in six seasons and Split 1 in four.
  • Switch almost always closes on the Master line. From Season 20 on, every Switch split except Season 21 Split 1 ended exactly on the Master entry RP (15,000, then 16,000). Fewer than 750 Switch players reached Master in those splits, so every Switch Master got the Pred badge.
  • Every number here is a last-day number. The cap climbs all split and peaks right before the reset.

Why does it peak on the last day? Players inside Pred keep adding RP and players below keep climbing in, so the 750th spot keeps moving up. A mid-split reading tells you where the line is today. It doesn't tell you where it ends, and that gap is the reason the next section exists.

The rule most players miss: end the split in Predator

Most ranked rewards in Apex use the highest rank you reached. Hit Diamond and the Diamond rewards are yours even if you have a rough week after. So Pred works the same way, right? It doesnt. Predator is the exception.

Has EA actually said this? Yes, plainly and more then once. Here is EA Community Manager EA_cuervo on the EA forums on May 29, 2024, in a reply marked as the solution:

If you hit Predator but fell out of it (due to losses or not playing) you would end with Master Rewards. If you hit Predator and end either split in Predator, you get those rewards (static for one split, animated for both splits).

EA_Hux said the same on the French EA forum on February 15, 2023. Charlie Intel reported it back in August 2022: you have to keep the rank until the split ends.

So what do you end up with? It depends on where you sit when each split ends:

How your season wentWhat you get
Hit Pred, fell back to Master before the split endedMaster rewards
Ended one split in Pred, not the otherStatic Pred badge
Ended both splits in PredAnimated Pred badge
Reached Master, never PredMaster rewards

How does someone fall out without a losing streak? Say you're on PC and you get into Pred mid-split, a couple thousand RP over the line. You feel safe, so you take a week off. The cap keeps climbing while your gone, other players pass you, and on the last day you're sitting outside the top 750. You didn't lose a single game and you still get Master rewards. That's the quiet way this goes wrong, and it's why "I hit Pred" and "I got the Pred badge" are two different sentences.

What's the fix? It's boring, but it works:

  1. Treat the end of the split as the finish line. Seeing the Pred icon is only the halfway mark.
  2. Watch where the cap is heading, not where it is today.
  3. Keep playing in the final days so the climb doesn't leave you behind.
  4. Don't throw RP away while you do it. Every Master and Pred match costs 90 RP to enter.

Didn't Season 21 change all this? Season 21 made end-of-season rewards use the highest tier you reached across the whole season. That helps players in Master and below. It didn't touch the Pred rule though, you still have to be Pred when a split ends to get the Pred badge.

Want the Season 30 Pred badge without sweating the last day? A booster can secure your Top 750 spot and hold it until the split ends.

How to get the Season 30 Predator badge

Can you still get it? Yes. Season 30, Marked, started on August 4, 2026, and Split 2 started on September 15. EA hasn't announced the end date yet, but EA's mode rotation ends on November 3, so the season is expected to end around then. From early October thats about a month to work with.

Which version is still possible? For most players, the static one. Split 1 is over. The animated Season 30 badge is only possible if you already ended Split 1 in Pred. If you did, finishing Split 2 in Pred too gets you the animated version.

The newest badge handed out so far is Season 29 from Overclocked. The Season 30 badge joins it when Season 31 starts.

Season 29 Predator Badge Apex

Step 1: Reach Master first

Why Master? Because Pred is the top 750 Master players on your platform, so Master comes first, and in Season 30 that's 16,000 RP. The Split 2 reset dropped everyone at Master and above to Platinum I at 11,000 RP. That means even last split's Preds had 5,000 RP to climb before they were back on the Pred ladder at all. Stuck in Diamond or Platinum? An Apex rank boost to Master takes you to 16,000 RP. The rank boost stops at Master on purpose. Predator is a leaderboard spot, so we sell it as a position instead.

Step 2: Watch where the cap is going

Where's the line right now? In early October the Pred cutoff sat at about 22,941 RP on PC, 19,388 on PlayStation and 16,792 on Xbox, while Switch sat on the 16,000 RP Master floor. Those numbers change every hour, so check today's Predator RP cutoff before you plan anything.

Now the trap. Season 30 Split 1 closed at 41,445 on PC, and Split 2 is sitting at a little over half of that. The cap climbs all split and peaks on the last day, so this week's number isn't the one you need to beat. The tracker shows end-of-split predictions next to the live number for exactly this reason. Xbox shows it best: in early October its Pred line was less than 800 RP above the Master floor, and that gap only grows as the split goes on.

Step 3: Play the last days with a buffer

How much buffer do you need? Enough to clear the predicted end cap, not the live one. Then:

  • Keep playing the final days. Sitting out lets the climb pass you.
  • Count your entry cost. Five Master games with no placement or kill points cost 450 RP. A bad evening late in the split hurts alot more than a bad evening early.
  • Know which ladder you're on. PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Switch each have their own top 750. PS4 and PS5 share one.
  • Mark the end date. The badge lands when Season 31 starts, not the night the split closes.

Step 4: Leave cheat tools alone

Why bring this up in a badge guide? Because Pred is exactly where EA is looking right now. Before Split 2, EA added new detection for unauthorized controller hardware and software, enforced at the highest ranks. EA Javelin anti-cheat went live on PC on September 29, 2026. A badge you can only earn at the end of a split isnt worth putting your account on a device like that.

Climb it yourself or hand it off

Want to do it yourself? Apex coaching runs as voice coaching, live stream or replay review, and ranked decisions is one of the focuses you can pick. Late-split RP comes down to those decisions more than aim. Don't have a month to grind the end of a split? A booster can hold an Apex Predator leaderboard position for you, and the next section covers how that works.

Will the rules stay the same after this season? Maybe not. EA says the biggest ranked changes land in Seasons 31 and 32, with details promised in October 2026. The rules for future Pred badges may change, so treat everything here as the Season 30 rulebook.

Get the badge with a Top Predator position

What is a Top Predator position, exactly? Its a position service, not a normal rank boost. A booster secures a spot on your platform's Predator leaderboard and holds it until the split ends. That lines up with what the badge needs, since the badge only cares where you are when the split closes.

Which bundles are there? Six, on PC, PlayStation or Xbox:

Can you still book Top 1 for this season? No. Split 2 started on September 15, so the Top 1 window for Season 30 has closed. Every other bundle can still start now.

How does an order run? Like this:

  1. You pick your platform and your bundle.
  2. A booster plays on your account and climbs into the position.
  3. The booster keeps account access until the split ends, because positions keep moving right up to the reset.
  4. You follow along with order tracking and booster chat on the site.
  5. When Season 31 starts, the Season 30 Pred badge goes out with the rest of the ranked rewards.

What about cheats? None. No cheats and no third-party software, just real boosters playing the games. With EA's new detection live at the top of the ladder, thats the only way it makes sense anyway.

Does a higher bundle get you a different badge? No, it's the same Season 30 badge. According to the Apex wiki, badges since Season 15 show the leaderboard position you held when ranked ended, so a higher bundle means a smaller number on it.

And the animated version? A position at the end of both splits is what gives the animated badge. Season 30 Split 1 is already over, so the animated Season 30 badge is only open to players who ended Split 1 in Pred. If thats you, a position at the end of Split 2 completes the pair.

Ready to put this season's badge on your banner? Secure a Top 750 Predator spot on PC, PlayStation or Xbox before Split 2 ends, and the booster holds it until the split closes.

Top 750 to Top 1 on PC, PlayStation or Xbox, held until the split ends so the Season 30 badge is yours.

In our cap data, which starts at Season 12, the hardest RP split was Season 23 Split 2 at 66,500 RP on PC, followed by Season 25 Split 1 at 63,069. Seasons 17 to 19 used Ladder Points, so their numbers can't be compared with RP seasons.

How many players get Predator each split?

Do Top Predator boosters use cheats?
